The year 2004 marks the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Portuguese composer
Jose Antonio Carlos de Seixas (1704-1742). This recording was made as a tribute
to his musical accomplishments.The CD was recorded on May 28th 2004 at Igreja San Vincente da Fora in Lisbon,
which houses one of the finest examples of 18th century organs in all of Portugal.
It is generally attributed to the eminent builder Joao Fontanes de Maqueixa in or about
the year 1765. On the recording are 10 selected sonatas for keyboard, performed
by Craig Hansen, which have rarely, if ever, been recorded on a pipe organ.
